The Inspiring Journey of Jusua Serrano Nemenzo: From Local Hairdresser to Global Professional

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Escalante City, Negros Occidental, the story of Jusua Serrano Nemenzo is a remarkable testament to resilience, ambition, and the power of dreams. Born in May 1989 to Merlyn Serrano and Alfredo Nemenzo, Jusua grew up in a community that valued hard work and determination.

Growing up, Jusua’s artistic flair found an early expression in hairdressing. Before he set out on a path of higher education, he worked as a hairdresser in a bustling beauty salon in Bacolod City. It was here, amidst the chaos of colorful hair dye and lively chatter, that he learned the true value of earning his way through life. The income he saved during this time laid the groundwork for his future ambitions, allowing him to pursue his educational dreams and personal development.

Jusua’s charm and confidence also shone through in his participation in local beauty pageants, particularly the prestigious Miss Gay Masskara. These experiences not only boosted his self-esteem but also instilled in him the importance of community and self-expression, values that would accompany him throughout his journey.

In 2019, Jusua proudly donned a cap and gown, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in BS Marketing Management from the Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology, now known as the State University of Northern Negros. His graduation was not just a personal victory; it was a testament to his indomitable spirit and unwavering commitment to self-improvement.

Eager to take on the world, Jusua took a leap of faith by moving to Metro Manila, where he ventured into the bustling BPO industry. Starting as an account associate for AT&T, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the United States, he thrived in a fast-paced environment that pushed him to grow both professionally and personally. For nearly two years, he honed his skills, learning the ins and outs of customer service and account management, proving that he could hold his own on a global stage.

His journey took another exciting turn when he transitioned to a role as a travel consultant for Spirit Airlines, an opportunity that allowed him to blend his marketing expertise with his passion for travel and customer service. However, after more than two years in the travel sector, Jusua realized that his heart belonged to his roots. He yearned for a simpler life, filled with family and the tranquility of the province.

Returning to Escalante City, Jusua embraced his role as a son and a member of his community. He found joy in being closer to his parents and family, where he could share his experiences and passion for life. The journey he undertook is an inspiring reminder of the various paths one can take and the importance of balancing ambition with family and personal well-being.

Today, Jusua continues to inspire those around him, showing that no matter where you start—be it a beauty salon or a bustling BPO office—your dreams are never out of reach. His story is a beacon of hope for many, proving that perseverance, hard work, and a touch of creativity can transform dreams into reality, proving that sometimes the best journeys lead us back home.
